A Photo, A Friendship, A Forever…

We met five years ago at a church youth retreat, a day that turned into the beginning of something beautiful.

All the youth were out in the garden, dressed up and taking pictures ahead of the dinner that evening. That’s when he saw her. She was wearing a grey silk jumpsuit, getting her pictures taken by a friend. But to him, it felt like everything else faded, his eyes went straight to her.

Without missing a beat, he walked up and offered to take her pictures too. On his phone on purpose just so he’d have a reason to ask for her contact info later. It worked. She gave him her Snapchat. Eventually, he got her number too.

Though they both attended the same church, he made sure they kept crossing paths, always inviting her to events he was going to, from youth programs to casual linkups and even his birthday celebrations. Most of the time she would say no, always focused, always putting God first. And somehow, that made him like her even more.

What started as a friendship built on faith, prayer, and everyday encouragement slowly turned into something deeper. They grew closer with time, and eventually, he let her know how he felt. To his joy and slight surprise, she felt the same.

Eight months later, they were engaged. And eight months after that, they celebrated their traditional marriage, surrounded by friends, family and their community.

Now, we’re preparing for the white wedding — and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. From a spontaneous photo to a lifetime of love, this is our story — one God has been writing from the very start.
